Rep. Joe Wilson is now serving his fifth term as the congressman of the state's 2nd congressional district, which includes the state capital, Columbia, and stretches to Beaufort and Hilton Head Island. Today, Joe Wilson did the unthinkable. President Obama was doing his speech regarding his healthcare plans. When Obama was saying that illegal immigrants will not benefit from the healthcare, Joe Wilson shouted out for nowhere the two words "You Lie". Pres. Obama, shocked but still composed, just looked at Joe Wilson and replied "No, you're wrong". This unethical and unprofessional act by Joe Wilson has drawn the attention and negative feedbacks not only from Democrats but also from his fellow Republicans as well.

Just hours ago, Joe Wilson has offered a public apology to the President and the entire Congress. Joe Wilson said in an interview, "This evening I let my emotions get the best of me when listening to the President's remarks regarding the coverage of illegal immigrants in the health care bill. While I disagree with the President's statement, my comments were inappropriate and regrettable. I extend sincere apologies to the President for this lack of civility."


Many believe that some of Obama's statements and arguments in the healthcare bill as unacceptable, still professional and government officials like Joe Wilson have the responsibility to act in good faith and with respect to the President of America. Although Joe Wilson has released an apology on the incident, Joe Wilson has just proven that there are rats in the House of Congress, and we must eliminate them in order to have a brighter future for America.
