The UFC 102 held last August 29 2009, was surely one of the most action-packed MMA event of this year. Personally, I'm glad to find out that the Filipino-American Brandon Vera was able to defeat his foe in one of the main cards of the event. Vera won vs. Krzysztof Soszynski via unanimous decision. I just want to say that all Filipinos, including myself, are proud of Brandon Vera's win. It is as sweet as Manny Pacquiao's. Moving forward, I'm sure that many people still have the UFC 102 hangover and want to relive it all over again. Those who missed it, are itching to watch the replay of all the exciting matches.

Dunham defeated Aurelio via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 30-27).

* Nick Catone vs. Mark Muñoz
Muñoz defeated Catone via split decision (28-29, 30-27, 29-28).

* Tim Hague vs. Todd Duffee
Duffee defeated Hague via KO (punches) at 0:07 of round 1. Duffee sets the new record for the UFC's fastest knockout beating Don Frye and James Irvin who were tied at 8 seconds.

* Justin McCully vs. Mike Russow
Russow defeated McCully via unanimous decision (29-28, 30-26, 30-27).

* Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Chris Tuchscherer
Gonzaga defeated Tuchscherer via TKO (punches) at 2:27 of round 1.

* Ed Herman vs. Aaron Simpson
Simpson defeated Herman via TKO (injury) at 0:17 of round 2.

* Brandon Vera vs. Krzysztof Soszynski
Vera defeated Soszynski via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).

* Chris Leben vs. Jake Rosholt (SUBMISSION OF THE NIGHT)
Rosholt defeated Leben via submission (arm triangle choke) at 1:20 of round 3.

* Nate Marquardt vs. Demian Maia (KO OF THE NIGHT)
Marquardt defeated Maia via KO (punch) at 0:21 of round 1.

* Keith Jardine vs. Thiago Silva
Silva defeated Jardine via KO (punches) at 1:35 of round 1.

* Randy Couture vs. Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira (FIGHT OF THE NIGHT)
Nogueira defeated Couture via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28).


In addition to their win, Nougiera, Marquardt and Rosholt all received the bonus cash award of $60,000 for the fight of the night, KO of the night and submission of the night respectively. The recently concluded UFC 102 was one of the biggest and most action-packed MMA event of the year. As predicted, millions watched the main event / fight of the night between Randy Couture and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira. Both fighters showed off their skills and fighting abilities, and none of them gave up or had been KO'd. Couture and Nogueira put their bodies to the limits but in the end, only one pair of hands were raised. It was none other than Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira's, who defeated Couture via unanimous decision.


The judges scored the Couture vs Nogueira fight as follows: 30-27, 30-27, 29-28 (all in favor of Nogueira). Still, Couture has nothing to be ashamed off as he showed the world how tough he is, enduring all the attacks by his opponents and not giving up til the end.
