Obama Calls Kanye A Jackass VIDEO / Transcript

One day after Kanye West dissed off Taylor Swift in the 2009 MTV VMAs, many celebrities, even those not from the music industry, has expressed their disappointment and disgust to Kanye West's unprofessional stunt. Even the politicians, who definitely are watching the VMAs are dismayed on Kanye West. And guess what, President Barack Obama was watching the event. President Obama was on CNBC last Monday for an interview. Off the air, Obama told reporters in the area, that Kanye West is a Jackass. An ABC news anchor then spread the word to Twitter, and it is now one of the hottest issues over the Web.


Nightline co-anchor Terry Moran (with over 1 million followers) twitted "Pres. Obama just called Kanye West a 'jackass' for his outburst at VMAs when Taylor Swift won. Now THAT'S presidential". The tweet spread throughout the Internet like a virus but Twitter took immediate action. They deleted Terry Moran's tweet and issued an apology for the mess.


After the incident, an ABC spokesperson released the following statements: "In the process of reporting on remarks by President Obama that were made during a CNBC interview, ABC News employees prematurely tweeted a portion of those remarks that turned out to be from an off-the-record portion of the interview. This was done before our editorial process had been completed. That was wrong. We apologize to the White House and CNBC and are taking steps to ensure that it will not happen again."


I just wonder what sanctions will be put on Terry Moran for the controversy. Fortunate for him, Terry Moran's twitter account is not banned.
