Perseid Meteor Shower or the "Tears of St. Lawrence" is expected to happen on the 12th of August 2009 with the first peak at around 1 AM EST and the other peak at 5:30 AM EST. I'm sure your wondering why it is also called the Tears of St. Lawrence right? It is simply because St. Lawrence died on August 10, and the perseid meteor shower occurrence has the mean date the same as St. Lawrence death date.
